Kids MMA and Self-defense Classes in Kenosha, Waukegan

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows kids a wide variety of fighting techniques to be used in self-defense and competition. The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of all different backgrounds to compete. We provide the best training for self-defense, coordination, confidence and future fighters. Our class sizes are always kept small. These classes are available in Kenosha and Waukegan.

Kids Stand Up

The Kids Stand Up class lets the student enjoy the benefits of boxing and Muay Thai and kickboxing. Our kids program for mixed martial arts is elite, just as our adult program, and offers a safe, fun and challenging environment. This program is taught by the same world class instructors as the adult classes and are built around coordination, concentration and effectiveness.

This Kids Stand Up class brings in the footwork and punching offered by boxing; and the kicks, knees and elbows offered through Muay Thai and kickboxing. This is an exceptional class for self-defense or for the future fighter. This class teaches stance and movement, bag drills, and ring strategy. It additionally provides cardioid-vascular exercise, stress relief, and strength training. Classes are offered in Kenosha and Waukegan.

Kids Ground

In the Kids Ground class we learn to attain control via clinching and grappling, working on transitions and take-downs, escapes, and submissions. Our MMA groundwork includes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (gi and no-gi), Judo and wrestling. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is known as the peaceful art, and allows for take-downs and submissions of much larger opponents with no strikes at all. Older students also learn striking on the ground. Striking is a component to MMA fighting. Striking can change outcomes with more difficult opponents by helping you get out of submissions and also setting up submissions. A solid ability on the ground is important in self-defense and mixed martial arts.
