Kids Ground: An MMA and Self-defense Class using Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, wrestling and Judo in Kenosha and Waukegan
In the Kids Ground class we learn to attain control via clinching and grappling, working on transitions and take-downs, escapes, and submissions. Our MMA groundwork includes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (gi and no-gi), Judo and wrestling. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is known as the peaceful art, and allows for take-downs and submissions of much larger opponents with no strikes at all. Older students also learn striking on the ground. Striking is a component to MMA fighting. Striking can change outcomes with more difficult opponents by helping you get out of submissions and also setting up submissions. A solid ability on the ground is important in self-defense and mixed martial arts.
